From frist glance, the iPad just looks like a large iPod. How many versions of one machine do you need before satisfaction? lol. It is a nice little gadget though.

The iPad is slightly smaller than a sheet of regular paper, just one-half inch thick, and weighs 1.5 pounds (1.6 with an optional 3G modem built-in). The 9.7-inch LED backlit glossy multi-touch screen has 1024x768 pixel resolution (132 pixels per inch).

The biggest surprise probably is the price. There are three models, based on amount of solid state memory: iPad with 16Gbytes is just $499; 32Gbytes, $599; 64Gbytes, $699. 3G adds $130 to each, so the most expensive iPad is $829.

Morality and Religion are like Identical Cousins

I don't really know how to formulate my words without sounding crazy or offending anyone when talking about religion and morality, but thats life lol. I've recently come to the conclusion that you do not need any form of religion to be a person with morals and high standards. Nor does it mean that you can't have a relationship with God. Religion has corrupted many facets of our society, so much to the point that we will condemn another person if they do not share the same faith as us. If religion was not instituted, maybe we'd just accept people for who they are and what they believe rather than pushing them away.

Morality is not a gift from heaven, morals are socially constructed. They are different in almost every society. The institution of religion has divided us as a people and pervaded our minds since we were children. This thought leads me to ask, does religion corrupt people or vice-versa? When looking at Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. It is clear to see that all three forms of religion stem from the same area of the world, and also time period of inception. Why is it that all three can share so many similarities, and yet be so different? Why is it that all three have been fighting over the same piece of "holy" land for thousands of years? Its because they are all essentially one and the same. Although they may be one and the same, the people who fought in these holy wars believe there is only one way to heaven, and that "one-way" is religion, not God. I'm basically saying that they're wrong. You do not need religion to seek God. You can do so on your own merit.

When you have a goal coupled with ambition, there should be nothing in this world in the way to stop you from achieving what you set out for, but in many cases, peoples dreams get deferred by other people, who my boy Kanye W. calls DREAM KILLERS. My Junior year is officially over, to sum it up shortly, it was the most trying year of my college career. Although, it didn't go the way I had initially planned it, I do not regret anything that i have done this year, nor would i want to change how went about certain situations either. One thing that i am willing to admit is that my main goal for this past school year was to become an ALPHA, and though i accomplished this goal, i put many other goals that i wanted to complete on the back burner. So in the upcoming school year, i am going to do a lot of self searching and do things that will improve me as a person, a student, and as a man of Alpha.

Amongst all these things, one fact still remains, i can get lost in nostalgia all i want but its still SUMMER TIME. time to, simultaneously, tighten up and have fun!

For me, it has become almost systematic to where at least two close friends (Not always the same people of course) of mine has a baby every year. I find it inspiring to watch those persons go through a transformation, some times in a good way, and sometimes in the bad. But a transformation none the less. It inspires me because their whole outlook on life has changed and their priorities are different. Their drive and motivation is solely to take care of that child.

New life breeds new beginnings and hardships, but you just take them in stride. so to all of you out there, on this beautiful Easter afternoon, I charge you to make the most out of YOUR life and take chances, and don't have regrets. At this point in our young college student lives, some of us may look at a child as a wonderful burden or just a burden period lol, but just know that everything happens for a reason and what ever God's plan is for you, he's not going to put more on you than you can handle. With that said, I want to say congratulations to all the new mothers and fathers who are still in college working hard to provide for their seeds, especially to my good brother and prophyte. 06'

So i just got home from spending my afternoon and evening with my line brother, #4 B. Etienne, on the day of his birth....Also know as a what? A BIRTHDAY! So to you, the person reading this blog entry at this very moment, if you have the opportunity to see my L.B. throughout the day. Make sure you give him a birthday wish (maybe even a gift if you're feeling generous...hmm, maybe? maybe not?).

So what if i got this video off of Kid Cudi's blog :p (View Picture to the Right -->). Any who, i thought this video was pretty interesting, reason being that the thought process the viewer goes through while watching ultimately leads to them thinking, "hmm, that kind of makes sense" lol. But although this may be the case, I'm the type of person that feels everyone should have something to believe in within the capacity of religon. As a christian, I am obligated to bear witness to non-believers and tell them of the Gospel of our lord and savior. Not saying that I'm "holier than thou" or that I'm the best example of a good Christian man because I know what my relationship with God is like, and only you truly know yours. To get back to my point after that psuedo-religious rant (AHH lol), the video is thought provoking and, yet, funny at the same time. Just look at it with a good sense of humor! Enjoy.

FYI: This specific blog post does not represent my opinion on this matter , I'm just stating the facts people. geesh...

The legalization of marijuana is such a touchy issue, the reason behind this is because yes, many people feel that it would be a strong economic stimulus, but at the same time, the issue of morality always comes into play. In the first video I posted above, Comedian D.L. Hughley is sarcastically agreeing with the drug's legalization, but in the video below, he shows how adamant is about how its decriminalization would prove to help uplift the economy. One of his main points was that, "marijuana should be under the same restrictions as alcohol and cigarettes" and since this is an "epidemic" that is honestly not going anywhere, then why not take some steps to regulate the drug to some degree.

Ronald Brooks, a narcotics agent, provided some good points as well.The statistics he brought to help formulate his argue show that teens are using marijuana less frequently, and that marijuana has proven to be a gateway drug to more potent forms of narcotics. Watch the video and formulate your own opinion.

I was sitting in my room one afternoon, thinking about how relationships and women are two things i have a hard time understanding. While pondering in my room, a song on my iTunes came on called Mona Lisa (When the World Comes Down). Its a pretty interesting piece of music, even though the All American Rejects are not in my top ten list of best bands of all time :p

You may feel as though you have the whole world in your hands and that you are in control of every situation that my come your relationships way, but it reality you don't. All great things must come to an end, even the "masterpiece of artwork" that you call your relationship, because even the Mona Lisa is falling apart. The beauty about this theory is that you don't have to let reality define your relationship and how you view your better half. You can live your life, in your relationship, within the realm of your own little world, completely letting go of everyone and anything that may come to put a road block in it.

Mickey Knox once said, as he was getting married to his sadistic partner in crime, "With the power vested in me as god of my world..", yes Mickey Knox is a completely fictional character in a movie, but at the same time, I can still understand where he was coming from. Although, he may have taken it a little far by declaring himself a god lol. He still saw that nothing else mattered in his life but him and his lady, and when it comes down to it, that's something that i can appreciate.

So when its all said and done, when the world seems like its ripping away slowly from the seems, having someone to sit beside you is what I would value in the midst of the destruction (figuratively/metaphorically speaking of course :p)

In the first 100 days of President Barack Obama's administration, he has consistently been on the move in terms of changing the political climate of our time and also becoming one of the most personable and presidents of the century. Since Barack Obama announced that he was going to run for president of the United States of America, he has done very well in the task of instilling hope in Americans after a rough eight years with President Bush. With this idea of hope he was able to galvanize a very diverse demographic of people. Within the short time that he has been in office he has:

- Announced that U.S. troops will return home by the end of 2011

- Implemented a economic stimulus plan worth $787 billion
- Crackdown on education and and it's systematic reform
- Expanded woman's right to an abortion
- Etc...

As you can see with this short lived track record that our dear president possesses, he has simultaneously kept in touch with his constituents via social media outlets (i.e. twitter, facebook). He was recently on the Late Show with Jay Leno, although he made an unsatisfactory comment, he still rose above it, showed that he is human, and that everyone makes mistakes from time to time. This is a phenomenon that our country has never seen from a president before and the fact that he finds a balance between the two is a testament to his leadership ability. Change is what America needs to get out of the current economic crisis its in now, and if President Obama isn't the answer, then he is assuredly a step in the right direction.
